Somaliland Non-State Actors Forum (SONSAF) was founded in 2005 by various business groups, traditional leaders, professional associations, religious leaders and civil society organizations.
Since its official registration in 2008, SONSAF is mandated to strengthen the voice of Somaliland non-state actors enabling them have a vibrant space especially in the decision-making arena by constantly engaging them in domestic and international policy dialogue activities.
SONSAF always aims to enhance development process by strengthening the Non-State actor’s performance by providing better coordination practices and innovative networking strategies amongst the various Non-state actors across the country.
As an independent non-State Actors platform, SONSAF doesn’t have a direct influence or administrative impact on the state organs; it is solely concerns about advancing the voice of the non-state actors to contribute in formulating policies that address the needs of all.
SONSAF envisions effective development, cooperation, trade, and policy dialogue
(locally and internationally).
SONSAF’s mission is to engage NSAs by improving their capacity to enable them to have space in policy dialogue activities aimed at formulating appropriate and sustainable development programs.
